Summiting Everest is not in everyone’s reach, but reaching the Base Camp is achievable. This is the reason Everest Base Camp Trek is among the most popular treks in Nepal.

You can trek to Everest Base Camp in most of the seasons. But, the best seasons are Spring and Autumn. Usually, the region experiences most of the trekkers from March to May and September to December experience.
The journey to the beautiful and inspiring Everest Base Camp begins from a flight from Kathmandu. After flying for about 30 minutes, you land at Lukla- the entry point of the Khumbu region. If you wish to use land transportation, you can travel to Jiri by bus and start your trek towards Everest Base Camp.
As you start trekking from Lukla, you will pass many small settlements and a few towns of Sherpas. There are teahouses in almost all the territories. So you do not have to worry about food and accommodation. But, be ready to eat what locals eat and stay in teahouses with only basic facilities.
The trail leads you alongside Dudh Koshi River. You will come across countless streams, pass many suspension bridges, and march closer and closer to Everest.
In your 15 days Everest Base Camp Trek, you trek to Namche from Lukla. From Namche, four days trek with an additional day for acclimatization takes you to Everest Base Camp. The next day, you hike to Kala Patthar -the highest point of your trek. Then you retrace back to Lukla and fly to Kathmandu.
Each passing day, you will fall in love with the Himalayas and the people dwelling in the Himalayas. The Sherpas and the locals of other ethnicities are some of the friendliest and loveliest people you will find on the globe. As you stay with them and make them friends, you can closely look at the lifestyle of the people of the Himalayas. Peek into their unique culture and tradition and make your trek worthier. Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the popular trekking routes of Nepal. A lot of people visit this heavenly place each year. Every day, we will be walking for about 6-7 hours. There are 2 rest and acclimatization days. We will be doing acclimatization hikes during the rest days.
This is a tea house trekking. We will be eating and sleeping in the lodges. The highest altitude we sleep is about 5100 meters. For some people without previous high altitude experience, it can be a bit difficult to adjust. Our leaders will do the best to accommodate you and make you comfortable while on the journey.

Enjoy breathtaking views of the Himalayas on your flight to Lukla. It’s one of the most adventurous flight rated by top-rated websites and travel magazines. The flight takes approximately 30 minutes. Try to get your seat on the left side of the plane.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440M / 6-7 Hours)
The trail starts with gentle ascending before we reach Monjo. We will stop in Jorsalle for our lunch and continue further to Hilary Bridge through beautiful pine forests. Once we cross the bridge, the trail passes through steep ascending towards Namche Bazaar.
Namche is considered as the gateway of the Khumbu / Everest region. It is a beautiful town with numerous activities available for trekkers. Pool House, Nescafe Cofee, Bakery, Modern Lodges, Internet, Telephone, Laundry, Bank, Money Changer, Equipment shop, etc., it got everything. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Rest and acclimatization day in Nepal (3440M), acclimatization hikes
Today is our rest and acclimatization day. We will do acclimatization hikes to nearby places. The leader will give you different options such as Khumjung and Khunde hike, Everest View Hotel Hike, Thame Hike or National Park headquarter visit. The evening will be free for exploring Namche Bazaar (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Trek to Tengboche Village (3860M / 5-6 Hours) or Debuche (3790)
We will ascend towards the national park headquarter and follow the gentle trail to Kyanjuma. We may stop for a short tea break before we start descending to Phungi Thanga for our lunch. We will cross the Dudh Koshi river and start steep ascending to Tengboche village. We have the opportunity to stop in Tengboche village or descend another 30 minutes to Debuche village. Tengboche monastery is considered as one of the largest and most famous monasteries of Khumbu valley. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Trek to Dingboche (4410M / 6-7 Hours)
We will follow the Imja Khola towards a beautiful village named Pangboche (3,930M). Pangboche is home of many renowned Everest climbers. This village is the home of brave Sherpas. The spectacular views of the Himalayas seen from the village are incomparable. We will continue for about an hour to stop for lunch in Somare.
We will follow a gentle trail until we cross a small stream from where the trail becomes steeper before we see a beautiful image of Dingboche village. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Rest and acclimatization day in Dingboche (4410M)
This is our second rest and acclimatization day. We will do a day hike to Nagarkhang Peak (approximately 5000 meters) from where we will witness spectacular Himalayan beauty. The summit offers great views of several Himalayan peaks including Makalu, Thamserku, Amadablam, Cholatse, Tabuche, Lobuche, Kusum Kangaro, etc.
We will return to Dingboche for lunch have a free evening for rest and relax. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Trek to Lobuche (4910M / 5-6 Hours)
We are getting closer to our destination; Everest Base Camp. We will follow the ridge above Pheriche village until we reach Dughla. We will stop in Dughla for a quick lunch before we start steep climbing to Dughla pass; the memorial for many world famous climbers passed away in this area.
The trail further is gentle ascending on the bank of Khumbu glacier; one of the biggest glaciers in the world. We will stop in Lobuche for the overnight stop. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Trek to Gorakshep (5130M / 3 Hours), hike to Everest Base Camp (5364M / 5 Hours with return)
The first part of the trek until we walk over the glaciers in pretty easy. Once we start ascending over the glaciers, the trail becomes harder due to trail difficult and low Oxygen level. Crossing the glaciers will give us a glimpse of Gorakshep village.
We will take quick lunch in Gorakshep and continue our journey to Everest Base Camp before it’s too late. The journey takes about 5 hours to visit Everest Base Camp and return to Gorakshep. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Hike to Kalapatthar (5545M / 4 Hours), Descend to Pangboche (3900M / 6 Hours)
We will wake up early in the morning to start the hike to Kalatthar before the sun comes up. The climb is difficult for it’s worthy. Kalapatthar is the most famous viewpoint of Khumbu valley known of towering Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest.
Descending to Gorakshep, we will grab our breakfast and start descending to Pangboche village. It’s a long day ahead but it’s mostly downhill walking. We will pass through Pheriche village where a Himalayan Rescue Aid post is situated.

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3440M / 6-7 Hours)
We will pass through Debuche and Tengboche village before we start steep descending to Phungi Tenga for our lunch. Phungi Tenga is situated on the bank of Dudhkoshi River. We then, have to start ascending to Kyanjuma village and continue further to Namche Bazaar through a gentle path. Namche will be waiting for a good shower and a good sleep.

For example, the price for 1 person and the total price for 2 people is different. So, the price you see at the time of making the reservation is the final. We do not charge an additional amount for the single traveler.

March – May, and September – December are considered the best months for trekking in Nepal. Trekking is doable throughout the year however some months are better than others. June – August is monsoon season so there might be some rain showers in these months. January – February is winter months and it’s usually much cold in higher areas.
The trek is doable throughout the year.
The trek has free cancellation 60 days before departure. Any cancellations received within 60 days of departure will incur 15% cancellation fees.
We will be eating and sleeping in the lodges for the whole trek (Day 2 to Day 12). Generally, rice, noodles, pasta, vegetables, curry, potatoes, eggs, sandwich, burgers, etc. are available.
The lodges will have twin sharing rooms. In most cases, we will provide you a private room however in rare cases you may need to share the rooms with other travelers (especially if you are traveling alone).
Very good question. Usually, a person with previous multiday hiking experiences is welcome to join our treks. If you do not have previous hiking experiences but still have no problem walking for 6-7 hours every day, then we are happy to take you on board.
If you are average fit then most of our treks are doable by you. If you are not sure whether you are fit or not then please consult with our travel experts.
We take bookings for this trek for people over 6 years old. The trek is doable with kids as well and we have previous experiences of organizing family tours.
We have very experienced guides at the company. We have guides experienced for at least 7 years to 22 years. All our guides are Ministry of Tourism trained and licensed by Nepal Government.
This is completely tea house based trek hence we will be sleeping and eating in the lodges. In Kathmandu, we provide 3 start category hotel accommodation with breakfast and it will be standard lodges while on the trek. The lodges on the trek will be mostly shared bathroom / shared toilet while in 1/2 places we may provide you rooms with private toilet.
The meals on the trek will be mostly locally prepared using local ingredients most of the time. Kathmandu offers a wide selection of meals in basic to high standard luxury lounges. On the trek, the number of meal items will be limited to a small number.
Everest Base Camp Trek is a high-altitude trekking route in Khumbu region. This trekking can be done throughout the year however March to May and September to December are better months comparing to other months i.e. June, July, August, January, February, etc. During best months the sky is generally crystal clear, the views are breathtaking and the weather is lovely as well. March to April is the months of blossoming season of rhododendron and many other flowers which looks very beautiful lush of green forests. From October to December you will see more green forests in the area. Everest Base Camp Trekking is best during spring and autumn season. As this is the ultimate adventure of your life we recommend you to plan the trek properly and during best months though Himalayan Leisure, Inc. will be able to arrange your trip throughout the year.
