The time period between June to mid-September, the rainy season brings the daytime highs of 28 degrees Celsius and nighttime lows of 20 degrees Celsius.

The time between March and May covers Kathmandu and Pokhara in pleasant temperatures of 20 to 22 degrees Celsius with plenty of sunshine and little rain. From late September to November, both cities enjoy a mild autumn with temperatures of 8 to 26 degrees Celsius.

Winter, between December to February, is also charming with temperature highs of 18 to 20 degrees Celsius and lows of 0 to 1 degrees Celsius.

Visa, Rules, and Regulations

Of course, a Nepal Tourist Visa will be needed before any foreign guests enter Nepal. But unlike other countries, you can get this Visa as you arrive at its entry point via international airport or land border. You can also pre-apply for the visa through the Nepal Immigration online portal.

As for the duration of your Nepal visa, 15 days will be sufficient for our Kathmandu Pokhara tour. To get the Nepal tourist visa, you must have:

• Passport with 6 months (minimum) of valid time beyond your departure date
• Most recent Passport photo (you can snap a photo at TIA as well)
• Payment for the Visa is based on the time of your Nepal stay

Fee for the Nepal Tourist Visa

• 15 days: US Dollars 30 per guest
• 30 days: US Dollars 50 per guest
• 90 days: US Dollars 125 per guest

For online pre-application, please follow the steps listed below:

• Open the Immigration portal of Nepal
• Click on the tourist Visa section
• Fill in the information as requested on the screen
• Upload the digital format of your photo and passport
• Get the barcode
• Print the form
• Present it to the immigration official at the airport or at the land border
• Pay the amount and get the visa

Please note that if you have children under ten years, they will get a free Gratis visa (not applicable for the US). Visa length can also be extended with payment of US Dollars 45 for 15 additional days and US Dollars 3 for each extra day.

In terms of entrance permits, the fee will be needed to tour around Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Bhaktapur. Our company will make the payment in site, included in the Kathmandu Pokhara tour package cost.

Accommodation, Meals, Drinks

All overnight accommodations during our Kathmandu Pokhara tour will occur in a lovely, inviting, mid-range three-star hotel equipped with twin rooms.

Each room will have a private bathroom with a Western-style toilet and a private shower. Additionally, the hotel provides WiFi and hot water.

If you like to stay in a single room, or like to experience the luxury of four or five-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, please inform us at the time of confirming your Kathmandu Pokhara tour.

At a small extra charge, we will arrange everything to your satisfaction. Regarding meals, breakfast will be provided every morning throughout the tour.

We believe in giving our guests the freedom to choose their own menu for lunch and dinner. So lunch, dinner, and drinks/beverages are not part of our Kathmandu Pokhara tour package.

Transportation

For all overland transportation during our Kathmandu Pokhara tour, we will be using our own air-conditioned vehicles for your comfort. The service includes Kathmandu-Pokhara-Kathmandu travel, along with airport pick-ups and drop-offs.

We may use a bus, car, van, or jeep, depending on the size of our group. If you prefer to fly between Kathmandu and Pokhara, please note that an additional fee will apply.

Health and Safety

At present, there are no vaccination requirements for entering Nepal. Only travelers coming from areas affected by yellow fever and polio need to be vaccinated against these diseases.

We advise you to have current vaccinations for hepatitis A, hepatitis B, typhoid, Japanese encephalitis, and rabies. When you are in Nepal for our Kathmandu Pokhara tour, you may experience minor digestive issues due to unfamiliar food and climate. However, you will not encounter altitude sickness during this trip.

Currency Exchange, ATMs, and Online/Card Payment

The NPR or Nepalese Rupee is the local currency in Nepal. In addition to NPR, the Indian rupee (INR) of up to 100 denomination, American Dollars, and Euros are also accepted.

You can exchange money directly at the airport or, at a generally better rate, at major banks in Kathmandu such as Nabil, SBI, Everest Bank, Himalayan Bank, Nepal Rastra Bank, or Standard Chartered.

Numerous ATMs are available in Kathmandu and Pokhara, where you can easily withdraw money (in rupees) using major credit cards (fees may apply).

Please check with your bank and understand the fees associated with using credit cards internationally. Card payments are now widely accepted in Kathmandu and Pokhara as well.

You can also use Esewa, Khalti, and IME or other digital wallets to make the online payment. These applications will allow you to load money from your bank account and make online payments.

Electricity, Telephone, and Internet/WiFi

Nepal uses various types of electrical outlets, generally with two or three prongs. Most hotels are equipped with standard double-pin plugs, so you don’t need to bring a travel adapter to Nepal. The voltage is 220 volts with a frequency of 50 Hz, making it suitable for all your electronic appliances.

As for mobile communication, you can activate roaming service, but the charges will be quite pricey. You can therefore use local SIM Cards of NCELL or NAMASTE, which offer good reception in Kathmandu and Pokhara.

They also provide 4G data services for mobile internet usage. Regarding WiFi, almost all hotels, restaurants, and marketplaces will provide you with excellent WiFi access at no charge.

Travel Insurance

However, we still recommend that you get an international travel insurance plan that adequately covers all types of medical emergencies, transfer by air to your country, injuries, accidents, or any other medical issues.
