Trek Overview

Overland Kailash Mansarovar Tour from Nepal

Yatra to Mount Kailash in 2026 is one of the most profound spiritual journeys in the world. Located in the inaccessible, remote region of the Tibetan Plateau, 6,638-meter-high Mount Kailash holds the position and significance of the spiritual center of the universe. Situated adjacent to the sacred site of Mount Kailash, the crystal-clear Lake Manasarovar is said to cleanse sins, calm the mind, and purify the soul to partake in higher levels of awareness.

Traveling to Mount Kailash is not an ordinary holiday trip. It is an adventure that needs patience, prior knowledge, and proper guidance. Having decades of experience in conducting pilgrimages to the Himalayas, Prime Holiday Travel and Tour promises to provide the best experience in its Mount Kailash and Lake Man Sarovar Overland Tour 2026.

This comprehensive guide will cover everything you need to know, including your day-by-day itinerary, your trekking adventures, costs, visa requirements, what to pack, and travel tips, so you can travel with confidence and in peace of mind.

Why Mount Kailash Yatra Is Considered a Lifetime Journey

Mt. Kailash is at an altitude of 6,638 meters, but it is not scaled due to its sacred nature. It is different from all other peaks in the Himalayas, as the spiritual activity here is not to climb the peak, but to trek around it. This practice of circumnavigating Mt. Kailash is called Kailash Parikrama or Kora, and it is said to remove all undesirable karma and create spiritual merit.

Similarly, Lake Mana Sarovar, considered one of the highest freshwater lakes in the world, has significant religious importance. The pilgrims believe that taking a bath in the lake will purify their soul and they will be well-prepared before going for the Kailash Kora.

Mount Kailash Yatra 2026 is more than a pilgrimage for many travelers, it is a journey to exhibit their devotion for inner healing and deep personal transformation.

Overnight: Kathmandu

Today you visit the many spiritual sites in the Kathmandu Valley, many of which have been spiritual pilgrimage sites for centuries.

Key visits include:

  • Swayambhu Nath Stupa also known as Monkey Temple: Up high on a ridge, this old Buddhist stupa stands quiet, holding meaning. From this spot, wide-open sights unfold slowly – soft light, distant peaks, stillness that speaks of Nepal’s deep-rooted spirit.
  • Patan Durbar Square draws eyes with its detailed temples, quiet courtyards sitting close by. Classical Newari design lives here, shaped patiently through generations of skilled hands.
  • Kathmandu Durbar Square: The royal palace complex now contains an area that displays centuries-old Hindu temples and statues and shrines which showcase Nepalese Hindu customs.
  • The Asan Bazaar Walking Tour: The Asan Bazaar leads through a vibrant traditional market which allows pilgrims to witness daily rituals, spice trading and experience local life.
  • The Thamel Handicraft Market serves as the perfect shopping destination for visitors who want to buy prayer flags, beads and souvenirs.

The heritage tour enables travelers to experience Nepalese spiritual heritage while they progress through their journey.

After breakfast, the group will travel to Bhaktapur which people describe as a living museum that shows the medieval period of Nepal. The pagoda-style temples of Bhaktapur Durbar Square along with its pottery squares and its traditional way of life create a historical atmosphere that has stayed the same throughout the ages.

You will drive to Nagarkot, which is a beautiful hill station that offers views of the Himalayan mountains. The weather conditions will determine whether you can view Langtang and Ganesh Himal peaks at sunset.
